I have put together an overview of significant 20th century icons and members of the richly diverse contemporary Bay Area basket makers movement.

The area of textiles referred to as Art Baskets is one of the most vibrant contemporary art forms with gallery exhibits and major collections in museums around the US. I trace the history of this movement from our father at UC Berkeley, Ed Rossback, to those working in the medium today, paying homage to the inspiration we take from traditional American, Japanese, and African baskets.
